Week Two Flew By!

It seems as though the summer just started and already time is speeding up!
We had an incredible week with plenty of children and horses for a lot of fun.

The campers learned the basics - horse safety, grooming, washing, walking, trotting, stearing, etc. Everyone is making new friends, falling in love with new horses and enjoying riding time, at least 2/x a day for this week.

After that it's popsicles, bathing the horses and fianlly heading to the pool to cool off and enjoy the afternoon sunshine.

I can't wait for next week - Red, White & Blue Week! It will be fun for some of the kids to carry the flag around the arena - a camp tradition!
We want to wish Cooper, Payton, and Walker a wonderful summer in Canada - we will certainly miss you boys very much!

Monday, Week One, Camp has offically begun!

Monday came fast as we were recovering from the success and fun at the Sapphire Show on Sunday (for more info, visit our blog, http://www.sapphirearabiansllc2009.blogspot.com/). There were only a couple of girls out of school but they were ready for camp to officially begin and we spent the day pampering all of the horses and taking them on long walks.

Just about every horse at our barn participated in the Sapphire Show (everyone but Crimson, Callaia, and the Baby!) so they were all in need of a spa day of pampering.

First off, Jordan rode Crimson and also took Bella to the round pen at Spring Valley where she learned how to lunge with the saddle and bridle on - she did great and Crimson enjoyed jumping the fences leftover from the show.

Next we pampered Buck Light and Callaia and took them on a long walk on the trails. They both enjoyed it very much. Our baby Callaia was not that bad either.
Then it was back to the Blue Barn for more horse-pampering. The lucky mares getting spoiled were Sonnet, Snapper, Bella, Gracie, Dessa, the Baby and Valentina.

The horses loved the attention and dozed off in the afternoon sunshine while the girls bathed them, brushed them, braided them, sprayed them, and applied coat sprays, ointments, and hoof oil. Sonnet fell asleep in Ashley's lap and it was so sweet!

We can't wait for tomorrow when we get our little campers, Geffen, Abigail, and Brynn. XOXO
